The non-striker is the batter at the non-bowling end, waiting for the next ball. They can be run out if they leave the crease before the ball is dead, and they have to back up their run.

Runs the pair complete go to the team total. Runs off the bat are credited to the batter on strike, not the non-striker.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Can the non-striker be run out?
Yes. They can be run out if they leave the crease early and the ball is in play.
02 Who scores a run completed by the pair?
The runs go to the team total. The batter on strike is credited with runs off the bat.
