How it works

From the first ball to the final table

CricSport is built around one idea: the ball-by-ball record is the source of truth. Every scorecard, standing, live link and statistic is calculated from that record, so the numbers agree with each other and with the match.

  1. 01

    Set up your club

Create an account, add your club, and invite the members who will score, captain and manage fixtures. Every member has a role, so each person sees what they need and nothing more.

  2. 02

    Add players and teams

Add the players and form the teams. A team is a squad you can reuse across matches and tournaments, so you do not retype the same eleven names each weekend.

  3. 03

    Create a match

Choose the format, the overs, the toss and the batting order. Each match starts with its rules, and a tournament match inherits the competition rules unless you change one.

  4. 04

    Score every ball

Record each delivery as it is bowled: runs off the bat, wides, no balls, byes, leg byes and wickets. The scorecard, the over count and the run rate update with every ball, and scoring keeps working when signal drops.

  5. 05

    Publish the live link

Choose whether the match is private, unlisted or published. Share the link with players, parents and sponsors, who can follow the score ball by ball without an account.

  6. 06

    Run the tournament

Build the fixtures, choose a round-robin, group or knockout format, and publish standings, net run rate and the leading batters and bowlers as results come in.

Questions people ask

01 How long does it take to score a match?
Setup takes a few minutes once the squads are known. Scoring runs at the pace of the match, with each ball recorded as it is bowled.
02 What happens if I make a mistake on a ball?
Corrections are recorded as revisions, so the original entry and the correction both stay in the history. A finalised match needs to be reopened first.
03 Can more than one person score a match?
One person holds the scorer role at a time. The role can be handed over, so a second scorer can take over during a long match.
