A drinks interval is a short scheduled break in play, usually between overs. The players take water, and the scorer freezes the book.

Do not tidy the totals or finish an over during the break. The book should show exactly what was bowled before the break.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Does drinks count as an interruption?
It is a scheduled break. Record the time, and the overs stay as they were bowled.
02 Who calls drinks?
The umpires, at the scheduled time or as the playing conditions allow.
