A yorker pitches right under the batter's bat, so the ball arrives too low to play with a normal swing. It is one of the hardest deliveries to play and one of the most effective at the death of an innings.

It is recorded like any other ball. The scorer only needs to note the outcome.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Is a yorker a no-ball?
No. A yorker is a legal delivery. Only an illegal delivery is a no-ball.
02 Why is a yorker effective?
It gives the batter little room to hit the ball away, so the runs are limited.
