The striker is the batter facing the bowler, who receives the ball. The striker faces each delivery at the bowler's end, unless the batters have run a single or a bye, which changes who faces.

The striker is the batter who is credited with runs off the bat and with most dismissals. Track who is on strike at every change of over.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Who is on strike at the start of an over?
The batter facing the first ball. The batters change ends at the end of each over, so the striker and the non-striker swap roles.
02 Who is on strike after a single?
The batters swap ends, so the other batter now faces the next ball.
