A leg-bye is a run when the ball hits the batter's body or pad, not the bat, and the batters run. The batter must have been trying to play the ball, or be in their normal stance, for it to count.

Like a bye, a leg-bye is a legal ball and an extra. It does not count against the bowler's runs conceded.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Can the batter be out off a leg-bye?
A leg-bye is an extra. Dismissals on the same ball, such as run out, are recorded separately.
02 Do leg-byes count as runs for the batter?
No. They go to the extras column.
